Noche de San Juan 2010

Esta foto fue sacada en la playa de Las Canteras el 23 de junio del 2010. Existe una ‘‘fiesta” en Gran Canaria, llamada Noche de San Juan, que se celebra la noche del 23 de junio y la madrugada del 24. Esta consiste en pasarse toda la noche en vela en la playa celebrando el instante en el que el Sol se halla en su máximo esplendor (cuando más tiempo está en el cielo y más resplandece). Para esto suelen hacer hogueras tanto en las calles como en la playas, donde las personas queman lo que traigan (algunos hasta apuntes). Luego cuando llega media noche, se meten en el agua en señal de buena suerte. Me gusta el efecto creado. La transparencia adquiridas por las personas, como si se trataran de fantasmas. Además, capta bastante el ambiente existente en ese momento; y eso que lo saqué con una cámara de baja “calidad’’ (la cámara digital Nikon).   Bueno, espero que les guste esta foto tanto como a mí. Con esto quiero demostrar que no hace falta tener una cámara de marca para sacar buenas fotos y que a veces las cosas improvisadas son las más bonitas. Así que no tengáis miedo en probar, porque quién sabe qué buenas fotografías puedes sacar.

I took this photo en the beach of Las Canteras on the 23rd of june 2010.  In Gran Canaria there’s a celebration called Noche de San Juan, or St John’s Eve, which takes place from the evening of June 23rd, till the morning of the 24th. Bonfiresare lit in the streets or on the sand of the beaches. It celebrates the moment that the sun shines the most and stays longer in the sky. Then, at midnight the people jump in the water, because they think it gives good luck.   It was then when I took the picture.      I like the effect that it has, ‘cause it looks like if there are phantoms. But most of all, I like that the picture captures the festive environment perfectly. But what surprises me more is that I took this photo with “bad’’ quality camera, a really basic one. I took it with a digital Nikon camera.     Well I hope you like the picture as much as I do. I want to show with it that theres no need of having flashy cameras for doing nice pictures, and that sometimes the improvised pictures are the nicest ones. So don’t ever be afraid of trying out new things, ‘cause you never know how nice pictures you could get.
